Welcome to ItsMyDogNow.com! I'm so glad you stopped by!
This site is built for dog lovers who believe in second chances. There are so many homeless pets in the world and for those who are willing to take a chance, and take in one of these dogs, it can be a rewarding (yet sometimes tough) journey.
"It's My Dog Now, and I vow to treat him with respect, dignity, and all the love that he (or she) can handle."
There's something special about taking a dog that nobody else wanted, that the universe had given up on, and giving him (or her!) a home. And it's not long before you begin to wonder, who saved who.
"Second-hand" dogs deserve the best... something they've never had, or something they lost by circumstance. They often come with their own "baggage" left-over from their previous life but you'll quickly learn that dogs live life in the moment and are more willing to forgive than any creature I know. Certainly more than humans.
This site is created for the humans that love these dogs and take that chance and reap the rewards! While this site may still be in it's infancy, the plans for growth are HUGE.
Whether you're looking for dog adoption and rescue services, or looking for info on caring for the special dog in your life, this is the place to be for those who respect, and cherish all that dogs can bring to us and all that we can bring to them. They love us unconditionally, it's time that we start appreciating that and return the favor.
Often times, rescued dogs have special needs… and that can be anything from dealing with fear and anxiety to learning to live with the physical left-overs of abuse and neglect. It's our job to be patient, do our research, and give this dog everything we've got. Otherwise, we have no business rescuing animals and should leave this important task to someone who is up for the challenge… and ready to reap the rewards. And for those willing to take on this responsibility, the rewards are often life changing.
It's important to do your research, and this site is here to help. The last thing you want is to take in a rescue that needs a steady home environment only to find out that you've taken on a breed that isn't right for you, your family, or your lifestyle… and then he ends up looking for a new home all over again.
